Dosage Guide

How many drops? Dosing monk fruit correctly

One serving is approx. 6 drops. Still, starting with less is the better rule. The overview for coffee, yogurt, baking and more.

The short answer

How many drops per cup of coffee?

For a cup of coffee or tea, 2 to 4 drops of Monkura monk fruit drops are enough. Stir briefly, wait about 15 seconds, then taste and add more if needed.

The most common first-time mistake: too much at once. If you impatiently add more before the sweetness has unfolded, you quickly end up with a far too sweet cup. So start with 2 drops and increase in small steps until you reach your personal sweet spot.

How much monk fruit replaces a teaspoon of sugar?

There is no fixed conversion, because the perception of sweetness varies from person to person and Monkura does not add volume like sugar, only sweetness. As a starting point: 2 drops in your drink, wait, taste, then add 1 or 2 more drops until the sweetness matches your usual amount of sugar.

If you are used to very sweet drinks, you will often need more drops at first. Many people report that after a few weeks they get by with less, because the perception of sweetness adapts.

The basic rule

How do I dose monk fruit drops correctly?

Three steps to the right sweetness: add drops, wait a moment, taste.

1
Add drops
Add 2 drops directly to your drink or food.
2
Wait a moment
Stir and wait approx. 15 seconds. Monk fruit sweetness unfolds more slowly than sugar.
3
Taste
Try it, then add 1 or 2 more drops if needed.

Baking

Can you bake with monk fruit drops?

Yes. As a guide, use 15 to 20 drops per cake tin. Unlike sugar, the drops do not add volume to the batter, they are dosed in addition to the recipe. Always taste the batter briefly before baking.

Why does monk fruit sweetness unfold with a delay?

The mogrosides in monk fruit bind to the taste receptors somewhat more slowly than household sugar. This is a natural characteristic of the fruit, not something that can be removed. So the rule is: wait a moment, then taste and add more.

Can you overdose monk fruit drops?

In terms of taste, yes: with too many drops, a drink or dish becomes very intensely sweet, sometimes with a heavy fruity note. So start with a little and adjust in small steps instead of dosing generously right away.
